COMICS FAIR: Opening Hours: Sat 10am - 5pm & Sun 11.30am - 4.30pm. The Comics Fair on Sat 1 & Sun 2 June at the Millennium Forum is FREE to attend and will play host to a great mix of comic stalls, children’s workshops, talks and other activities. Come along to meet the world’s best comic creators, who will be sketching, signing and selling loads of cool stuff. We will also have fantastic prize giveaways and spot prizes for cool costumes - Dress to Impress!

Keynote: Herb Trimpe

US Comics artist Herb Trimpe is a true comics industry legend, not least for being the first artist to draw the most famous member of the X-Men; Wolverine, but also for his seminal run on the Incredible Hulk in the 1970s. Herb has also worked on a host of other top titles and characters and will be discussing his career and his thoughts on the industry with host, leading comics journalist Chris Thompson.

Talk: Eclectic Micks - Where did it all go wrong?

Once a promising group of Irish comic creators, what has become of the Micks? Bad jokes aside, a mixture of determination, great work ethic and sheer talent has seen core members of the Eclectic Micks sketch group rise to the very top in the comics industry. Not only doing well, but creating some of the most dynamic and exciting work out there at the minute. Learn the fine art of pop up with artist Maeve Clancy. Participants will create their own story and character designs, which will be translated into a pop up page. Paper engineering, design and construction are all covered in this short intense workshop. Each child leaves with their own pop up page and a handout to bring home.
